Vaccinations and Boosters

Vaccinations provide the most effective protection against many infectious diseases and can prevent their complications. We will check your vaccination status and advise you individually and tailored to your needs. All vaccinations are administered by medical professionals and only after prior consultation. With extensive expertise in vaccinating different age groups, including infants, our team is committed to keeping up to date with the latest practices. We strive to ensure a seamless and stress-free vaccination experience, prioritising the comfort of our patients.

Some vaccinations require several doses to ensure adequate protection. It is advisable to seek advice 4 to 8 weeks before departure. This ensures that all necessary vaccinations can be completed before you travel.

However, even if you decide to travel at short notice, it is often still possible to receive individual vaccinations and a travel medical consultation still makes sense. Booster vaccinations also provide sufficient protection very quickly and there are accelerated vaccination schemes.

In addition to your vaccination certificate, please also bring a list of allergies and any medication you take regularly.

Please note that if the previous vaccination was not given by us or was given several years ago, we can only give a booster after a consultation.

The costs of any vaccinations required as well as their administration and documentation in the vaccination certificate are invoiced according to the TARMED standard medical time tariff (➔ our price list). We generally do not offer the administration of vaccinations without first checking your existing vaccine protection and the indication. The consultation and vaccinations must be paid for on site at the day of the appointment (cash, card or Twint). Invoicing or direct billing to your health insurance is not possible. Partial vaccinations required for basic immunisation must be paid for on the day of administration.

You will receive a reimbursement certificate on payment, which you can submit to your health insurance. Compulsory health insurance usually covers the recommended routine vaccinations, supplementary vaccinations and vaccinations for groups at increased risk of exposure or complications (provided the selected deductible/’franchise’ has already been exhausted). Please contact your health insurance company to find out how costs are covered.

Under cantonal programmes, the cost of vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) is covered and there is no deductible. The vaccination is free for all adolescents and young adults up to the age of 27 who live in the cantons of Basel-Stadt or Basel-Land (https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/de/home/gesund-leben/gesundheitsfoerderung-und-praevention/impfungen-prophylaxe/schweizerischer-impfplan.html)
