Book an appointment
Travel vaccinations should ideally be completed at least 14 days before travel. You should therefore book an appointment well in advance, preferably 4 to 8 weeks before departure. But even if you decide to travel at short notice, individual vaccinations are often still possible and travel medical advice makes sense.
Please make sure you select the correct category when booking your appointment. If the wrong appointment type is chosen, we may not be able to conduct the consultation as planned.
To allow enough time for check-in, please arrive 10–15 minutes before your appointment.
Services, prices and payment
We offer personalised travel medicine consultations to help you prepare for your trip. Costs are based on the time required and follow the standard Swiss medical tariff TARDOC (➔ see our price list). During the consultation, your existing vaccination status will be reviewed and an individual vaccination plan will be developed.
The cost of vaccines, as well as their administration and documentation in your vaccination record, is not included in the travel consultation and will be charged separately. Vaccinations are only administered following a prior medical assessment of their indication.
Payment is required at the day of the appointment on site. We accept card payments (Maestro, Postfinance, VISA, Mastercard, Diners Club) as well as Twint. Cash payments are not accepted. Invoicing or direct billing to your health insurance is not possible. For vaccination series (e.g. primary immunisation), each dose must be paid for at the time of administration.
You will receive a reimbursement form on payment, which you can submit to your health insurance. Partial reimbursement may be possible depending on your supplementary insurance, but this varies between insurers.
The mandatory basic health insurance generally only covers certain recommended routine vaccinations or vaccinations for individuals at increased risk (e.g. for medical reasons), provided the relevant conditions are met.
Please check in advance directly with your insurance provider whether and to what extent costs will be covered.
Cancelling an appointment
Appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance (by calling +41 61 284 82 55 or emailing: tropmed@swisstph.ch). We must charge for appointments which have not been cancelled in due time (as per TARMED).
Appointments can only be made via our online booking system or by phone (+41 61 284 82 55). Appointment bookings or medical queries by email are not accepted and will not be considered.
